Sports Institute Announces New Officers

WEST PALM BEACH, FL – The Palm Beach County Sports Institute (PBCSI) is pleased to announce their newly elected officers. Elections took place during the Palm Beach County Sports Institute meeting on March 13, 2006.
Joe Weldon of Parks and Recreation for the city of Delray Beach was re-elected as President of the PBCSI and will also serve as Chairman. Gerry Baron of Baron Event Management will continue to assume the responsibilities of Vice President of the PBCSI and will also serve as Vice Chairman. Don Dufresne, a partner in the West Palm Beach office of the law firm of Adorno & Yoss, has been elected and will continue to serve as Secretary/Treasurer of the PBCSI.
The officers will begin serving their one-year terms immediately.
The Palm Beach County Sports Institute is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization that provides local youths the opportunity to learn sportsmanship, teamwork and citizenship through sport. The Sports Institute also promotes character development through sporting activities, lifelong physical fitness, a drug-free lifestyle and safe and fun access to healthy activities.
Currently, the PBCSI has nine members of the Board of Directors. Pam Gerig-Bland has served as Executive Director of the Palm Beach County Sports Institute since 1996.
