The “World Cup” spirit is coming to Palm Beach County! The Palm Beach County Sports Commission is partnering with U.S. Soccer and Florida Atlantic University (FAU) to host a marquee international soccer match in Palm Beach County. The Men’s National Teams of Germany and Ecuador, both ranked in the top 10 of the current Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) World Rankings, will face each other in an international friendly at FAU Stadium in Boca Raton on Wednesday, May 29. Both teams are in the midst of competing for a place at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil and will meet in preparation for their next set of qualifiers in June. The international contest is set for 2:15 p.m. ET (8:15 p.m. Central European Time) so that the match can be seen live on prime-time television in Germany. The game is also expected to be televised live in Ecuador (1:15 p.m. Ecuador Time).

The 2013 Palm Beach Blast (formerly Boca Blast) is a Summer tournament event that is part of the Florida United Lacrosse Cup series. Sponsored by Premier Players Lacrosse Academy, the Palm Beach Blast offers a complete array of competitive divisions. This year's event will be held June 8 & 9, 2013 at the Wellington Polo Grounds. The tournament is a two-day round-robin event and offers Boy's Divisions at U-9, U-11, U-13, U-15, U-17 and U-19 (High School) levels. Competing Girl's Divisions in 2013 include MS, JV and HS categories. The first 36 teams to register will get the spots. Coast to Coast Baseball was formed with the express purpose of providing young amateurs with a taste of what it is like to play the game at its highest levels. The program is open to players between the ages 11 and 18, the majority of whom are selected at open tryouts held in 30-35 states annually. The organization also accepts athletes that have been recommended directly by a college coach or professional scout. Once chosen, players may elect to represent the USA in competition in Puerto Rico, or work with top college coaches and pro scouts at one of our Florida or Arizona Camp & Showcase events held at a MLB spring-training complex.

The South Florida PGA Junior Championship and Challenge Tours is a series of two-day events at some of South Florida’s premiere facilities. Membership is Invitation Only. Juniors are invited based on the previous year’s Junior Tour scoring average and point standings and current year’s performance prior to session checkpoints. Athletes will play 4 round robin games, with a 5 game guarantee at Roger Dean Stadium in Jupiter, Florida. Players must use wood or wood composite bats. This event is marketed to college recruiters and professional scouts. Scouting reports on top players will be submitted to Baseball America. Participating players will strongly be considered for the Under Armour All America Game.

Palm Beach Gardens will be the host of the Cal Ripken South State Championships from July 5-8, 2013. The tournament includes the 10u and 9u age divisions. The mission of NAOAGA is to promote the game of golf to those that must play "one-handed" due to a physically-challenged condition for the purpose of competition, recreation, and physical & emotional rehabilitation. PGA National will host the 18th Annual Championship Tournament August 19th-23rd 2013.

The EVP National Championship is the final competition for professional/amateur beach volleyball teams on the EVP Tour. 24 professional teams and 80 amateur teams will participate. Professional and amateur matches will take place simultaneously on 10 volleyball courts set up on Delray Beach’s public beach. This event will also feature the BSN Corporate Challenge, featuring 10 local corporate teams who will play on Saturday afternoon. The EVP Tour’s primary goal is to support beach volleyball events that result in increases in sponsorships, participants, and spectators.
