A potential college scholarship of $20,000 is presented to the winner of the Sam Budnyk Scholarship. $5,000 is awarded the 1st year and a subsuquent $5,000 is available for three consecutive years. The Sam Budnyk Scholar-Athlete Award is presented annually to a high school senior in Palm Beach County who has demonstrated outstanding achievement in academics, community service and athletics.

The Tyler McLellan Foundation will host it's 1st Annual "Tyler's Day" Fundraiser on Saturday June 27, 2009 at Palm Beach Central High School. The foundation was started by Tyler's dad Kevin and step mother Karin just days after Tyler's tragic death on an "Angel Flight" July 17,2008 while accompaning a family friend to receive cancer treatment in Orlando. Tyler was 15 years-old. The goal of the foundation is to assist parents who can't afford to keep their kids in youth sports. Proceeds go to Youth sports programs in Palm Beach & Martin County.

National Firefighter Games

Palm Beach International Raceway The National Council of Corvette Clubs (NCCC) Convention will take place at the Palm Beach International Raceway from July 24-30, 2010. The NCCC was founded to promote interest in Corvette ownership and operation. The Convention will consist of business meetings, social functions, and a high speed and low speed competition. The high speed competition will feature Corvettes competing in a timed event on a road course and the low speed competition will feature cars competing on the Kart Track with obstacles. Reviving Baseball in the Inner Cities (RBI) will host its world series at Roger Dean Stadium in Jupiter, FL. 24 teams will compete in three divisions in the RBI World Series. RBI is entering its 21st year of play in 2010. The prestigious, annual PW All-Florida Weekend Showcase has been set for October 2-3, 2010. The event is tentatively scheduled at Roger Dean in Jupiter. The event has rotated sites since it's inception beginning at FIU Baseball Stadium in 2007, moving up to The Washington Nationals Complex in 2008, the Lake Myrtle Complex in 2009 and will likely debut at Roger Dean complex in 2010. At least 1 first round draft pick from Florida has attended each year of it's existence and is invitation only. This past June's MLB Draft saw over 40 All-Florida participants get drafted, a new PW record. Over 100 college coaches and scouts checked in at the gate last year, also a new event record as the event continues to grow in popularity in the scouting community.

The 2nd Annual LaVaughn Munroe Tennis Invitational which will be held October 8-10th at the Palm Beach Gardens Tennis Center will be full of tennis and lots of fun. The City of Palm Beach Gardens is graciously donating their time and facility to support our event and the Munroe Tennis Fund, Inc. On Sunday, February 15, 2009 LaVaughn Munroe, a former tennis player and alumni of Florida A&M, was killed in a car accident. He had just started the Munroe Tennis Academy in the Bahamas and was hoping to help the kids begin to play tournaments here in the USA to give them an opportunity to go to college on an athletic scholarship. We are also working to establish a relationship between the Bahamas junior players and juniors in the USA so everyone involved gets a chance to pursue their dreams in tennis. Coast to Coast Baseball will take place at Roger Dean Stadium from December 27-31, 2010. Coast to Coast showcases high school aged players. During the program, participants will receive approximately 15-18 hours of group and personal instruction from top college coaches and pro scouts. Peanut Island is an 80 acre Palm Beach County, FL park, located in Lake Worth Lagoon. It is part of the Intracoastal Waterway at the Palm Beach Inlet to the Atlantic Ocean. 1.234 mile loop circumnavigates Peanut Island. Running surface is a very even, 10-foot wide pavers-over-sand trail. It includes one gradual hill, but is otherwise flat. Chip “timing” (mileage tracking) system. Partial distance last lap will be counted. The trail is lighted at night. The winner is the competitor who logs the greatest number of miles in the allotted time--6, 12 or 24 hours.

The prestigious USPA Gold Cup, first played in 1974, is a symbol of professionalism, good sportsmanship and high goal polo at its finest. First introduced at Oakbrook Polo Club in Illinois, it then headed north to Milwaukee Polo Club in 1975 and remained there until 1978. The Tournament will be played on the Champion Course - home of the PGA Honda Classic – and will be accompanied by Boldin as well as more than 15 professional athletes who love playing the game of golf. Spring Egg Dive is a FREE event Open to any 5-13 years old children that are comfortable in the water and without the use of goggles. Children search for pennies on the bottom of the pool and turn them in for plastic eggs filled with a toy. If children find a specially marked penny, they receive a special prize. This is an annual event that serves as the eastern region championships for the 15-16 year old age group. USA Baseball uses the tournament to select individuals for their 48-member Junior National team tryout. A total of 18 players will be selected from the tryout for the National team, which will represent the United States during international play, including the Pan American Championships. Roger Dean Stadium in Jupiter and the Santaluces Athletic Complex in Lantana will host the 2011 USA Baseball 16 & under Championships. The Kings Academy
The Heath Evans Foundation will host its annual 7-on-7 Flag Football Championships on Saturday, June 18, 2011 at the Kings Academy High School in West Palm Beach. The Loggerhead Triathlon is one of the longest enduring triathlons in the state of Florida. The Palm Beach Gardens Marriott will be home to the World Powerlifting Federation (WPF) World Championships. The World Powerlifting Championships will attract 400 lifters from more than 20 different countries around the globe. The event will feature a variety of divisions, including: juniors (13-16), juniors (17-18), adult (20-23), open (up to 40 years), masters (40+ lifters), and Special Olympics. Lifters will range from 13 years of age to 80 years of age. Each division will crown a champion in the following disciplines: bench press, deadlift, and a combination of all lifts.

The MSBL Florida Fall Classic will take place at Roger Dean Stadium in Jupiter, Tradition Field in Port St. Lucie, and Dodger Stadium in Vero Beach on November 8-19, 2011. This is an adult baseball tournament that features more than 130 teams and 2,000 players traveling from across the United States to compete. MSBL is one of the premier amateur adult baseball organizations. This will mark the second consecutive year the event has taken place in Palm Beach County. Men’s Adult Baseball League (MABL) is a national organization with 325 local affiliates, 3,200 teams and 45,000 members who play organized amateur baseball in local leagues, 30 regional tournaments and six national tournaments.

The Polo Golf Junior Classic, which has been conducted annually since 1978, is one of the premier tournaments on the American Junior Golf Association's season. Peanut Island is an 80 acre Palm Beach County, FL park, located in Lake Worth Lagoon. It is part of the Intracoastal Waterway at the Palm Beach Inlet to the Atlantic Ocean. 1.234 mile loop circumnavigates Peanut Island. Running surface is a very even, 10-foot wide pavers-over-sand trail. It includes one gradual hill, but is otherwise flat. Chip “timing” (mileage tracking) system. Partial distance last lap will be counted. The trail is lighted at night. The winner is the competitor who logs the greatest number of miles in the allotted time--6, 12 or 24 hours.

The Sailfish Open, an official leg of the Sailfish Pro Series, will be held February 1-3, 2012. This will be the fourth year for the highly acclaimed Sailfish Open. The inaugural tournament attracted a fleet of 30 sportfishing teams paying out a whopping $250,000 in cash prizes, and is anticipated to grow fast. The three day tournament includes VIP parties and two days of highly competitive fishing, world class entertainment, gourmet food, top shelf open bar and a one-of-a-kind, custom-made Iona Irish crystal trophy. “It is good to see tournament organizers working together. It is our hope that by adjusting both our dates that teams will have the opportunity to fish both events. At the end of the day we want our teams to be able to do what they love, sailfish!” said Chris King, President of Executive Adventures and parent company to the Sailfish Open. The inaugural Motivation Man Half-Iron Triathlon will be an endurance event consisting of a 1.2 mile swim in the Intracoastal Waterway, a 56 mile bike that travels from downtown West Palm Beach out beyond Lion Country Safari on Southern Boulevard/SR 80 and back, and a 13.1 mile run that will take place on the same course as the Marathon of the Palm Beaches. The event takes place June 2, 2012, with the swim portion beginning between 6:30am and 7am. 800-1200 athletes are expected to participate in the race. The Heath Evans Foundation will host its annual 7-on-7 Flag Football Championships on Saturday, June 9, 2012 at the Kings Academy High School in West Palm Beach. The invitation-only, 16-team tournament, which benefits the Heath Evans Foundation. NFL players are expected to attend the tournament, providing tips to the high school players. Coast to Coast Baseball was formed with the express purpose of providing young amateurs with a taste of what it is like to play the game at its highest levels. The Bear's Club
The Florida State Golf Association Amateur Championship will take place at the Bear’s Club in Jupiter from June 21-24, 2012. This tournament will decide the amateur state championship for the men’s division. The tournament features seventy-two holes of individual stroke play. All golfers play eighteen holes each at The Bear's Club and The Loxahatchee Club on Thursday, June 21st and Friday, June 22nd. The field will be cut to the low seventy and ties after thirty-six holes. The final thirty-six holes will be played at The Bear's Club. The lowest score for 72 holes will be the Champion. If necessary, there will be a three hole aggregate score play-off for the championship. If the play-off results in a tie, play will immediately continue, hole by hole. Atlantic High School
The USANA National Championships will take place on June 23-24, 2012 at Atlantic High School and Pompey Park in Delray Beach. The tournament is an invitational for national and international netball clubs, which will crown a national champion in several divisions. Age groups include 14u, 16u, 20u, and 21+ for both women and men divisions. Approximately 25 teams and 300 athletes will participate in the National Championships. Netball is derived from the game of basketball. Netball is considered one of the most popular sports for women in Australia, South Africa, Europe, and the Caribbean nations. USA Baseball Junior Olympics

This is an annual event that serves as the eastern region championships. USA Baseball uses the tournament to select individuals for their 48-member Junior National team tryout. A total of 18 players will be selected from the tryout for the National team, which will represent the United States during international play, including the Pan American Championships. Roger Dean Stadium in Jupiter and the Santaluces Athletic Complex in Lantana will host the 2012 USA Baseball 16 & under Championships. A total of 72 teams and approximately 1,200 athletes will play in 264 games. USA Baseball is the national governing body for the sport of baseball, governing more than 12 million amateur players.

New to the All-Star Game will be the MLL All-Star Experience with Casey Powell and Tony Lowe, which will provide fans with the opportunity complete n a tournament prior to the game. The tournament for youth 7 – 18 will be held at the Glades Soccer Fields adjacent to Florida Atlantic University. MLL Legend Casey Powell is a current attackman for the Hamilton Nationals. He is the MLL all-time points leader with 392 points. Although diving is typically seen as an buddy reliant, non-competitive sport, each of us are obligated to maintain and improve our scuba skills that will not only keep ourselves and others safe, but help protect our reefs and marine life from human harm. This year's Ultimate Diver Challenge will identify the top 5 divers of each session. Five divers from each week will face off in the finals in an award challenge. As part of our future plans, we are not only attending various trade shows but are looking to assist dive shops in planning and hosting several local challenge events. Local Challenge events will expose divers to the various challenges without the pressure of becoming the first Ultimate Diver Team.

The EWGA Championships will determine the top female executive golfers in the United States. The EWGA Championship will take place at PGA National Resort & Spa on October 3-6, 2012. The tournament will attract 218 players from across the United States and Canada. The tournament gives the golfers an opportunity to either compete in a scramble or stroke play competition. The Finals feature 36 holes of play. The Championship is the culmination of the EWGA season, where golfers initially compete on a local level and advance to a regional level, prior to making it to the Finals. In order to compete at the season ending Championship, golfers must qualify. There are 102 qualifying tournaments each year.

The Offshore Powerboat Association World Championships are scheduled to take place in Palm Beach County from October 18-21, 2012. The race course begins at Carlin Park in Jupiter and travels just south of the Juno Beach Pier. The offshore course takes the form of an oval with a circumference of 5.5 miles. Dolphins Cycling Challenge

Launched in 2010, the Dolphins Cycling Challenge (“DCC”) is a two-day tri-county charity cycling event. The purpose of the DCC is to increase cancer awareness, encourage healthy hobbies, and raise funds for the University of Miami Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center. In 2011, DCC II raised $1,070,000 for Sylvester, more than doubling the funds raised in the 2010 inaugural ride. The DCC has donated over $1.6 million to Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center since 2010. Rides begin in Miami-Dade at Sun Life Stadium, in Broward at Huizenga Plaza and in Palm Beach at CityPlace through the weekend. Along each route, water stops will be located approximately every 15-20 miles, with food, beverages, entertainment, restroom facilities, medical treatment and mechanical assistance available for riders.

PEAK South Lacrosse is partnering with the Palm Beach County Sports Commission to continue this evolution by hosting the inaugural Peak South Lacrosse Showcase, happening in West Palm Beach this coming winter. The PEAK South Lacrosse Showcase will take place on December 1-2, 2012 at Cardinal Newman High School. This elite lacrosse event will pair the finest 300 high school boys lacrosse players (grades 9-12), from the Southeast region and beyond, with the finest collegiate coaches. PEAK South has exclusively invited a core of college coaches that represent some of the most competitive academic and athletic institutions in the country.

The Lou Groza Collegiate Place-Kicker Award is presented annually by the Orange Bowl Committee, given annually to the nation's top place kicker as determined by a voting panel. PGA National Resort & Spa
The Little Mo International Open will take place on the tennis courts at PGA National Resort and the Ballen Isle Country Club from December 7-12, 2012. This youth tennis tournament will feature both boys and girls in 5 different age groups (12u, 11u, 10u, 9u, and 8u). The tournament will feature singles, double, and mixed doubles competitions for each age group. Approximately 250 athletes from more than 40 countries are expected to compete. A total of 25 tennis courts will be utilized (15 at PGA National & 10 at Ballen Isles). International Tennis Federation (ITF) rules will apply.

The Junior Honda Classic is a premier competitive and developmental golf experience celebrating junior golf. Meadows Park Pool
The event is a 1,000-yard pool swim (0.6 miles) followed by a 5K run (3.1 miles). The race will consist of 2 heats with 18 participants in each heat, the first heat at 7:00am and the second heat at 7:30am. Check-in is at 6:15am. Two swimmers share each lane and swim on the same side of the lane the entire swim (no circle swimming).

Florida Atlantic University
The U.S. Women’s National Team will play the final three matches of the 2012 Fan Tribute Tour, presented by Panasonic, in Detroit, Houston and Boca Raton, Fla. The three matches will all be played against China during an eight-day span. The USA has played China once so far in 2012, a 4-1 victory on May 27 in front of a sold-out crowd at PPL Park in Chester, Pa., as Alex Morgan scored twice, Abby Wambach scored once and China knocked in an own goal.

The Peanut Island 24 features three different races and five different starting times! The 24 hour race begins December 31, 2012 at 10:00 AM. Check-in at 9:00 AM, with pre-race meeting at 9:30. Race ends at 10:00 AM on January 1, 2013. The 12 hour race gives you a choice. Run on December 31 from noon until midnight, or 10:00 PM on December 31 until 10:00 AM on New Year's morning. There are also two schedule choices for the 6 hour race: December 31 from 10:00 AM until 4:00 PM, or 6:00 PM until midnight.

At 8 goals indoors, Alfred "Herbie" Pennell was one of the top arena players in this country's greatest era of indoor polo, the 1950's and 1960's. MRP Florida Winter Tour

The Florida Winter Tour (FWT) is one of the world’s longest running, largest and most geographically diverse kart racing series in the Americas. The 2012 FWT featured over 400 unique competitors representing 28 countries and all six karting continents, and for the fifth successive year was the world’s largest official Rotax Max Challenge Series and event. Drivers of all ages race for a variety of prizes totaling in excess of $150,000. The PBIR race is one of three stops on the Florida Winter Tour, featuring two weeks of racing from January 2-15, 2013. The FTI Consulting Winter Equestrian Festival (WEF) is the world's largest and longest running equestrian competition. The 12-week event, which runs from January 9 through March 31, awards over $6 million dollars in prize money and hosts 5,000 horses and 2,800 riders from 50 states and 31 countries. During WEF, spectators can enjoy Saturday Night Lights every Saturday evening beginning at 6 pm. Lake Worth Theraputic Center
The South Florida Rattlers, Inc. and Palm Beach County Parks and Recreation will host the 13th Annual Knock & Roll Wheelchair Rugby tournament at the Lake Worth Therapeutic Center’s gymnasium on January 18-20, 2013. Wheelchair Rugby is the only organized full contact wheelchair sport in the world today. The United States Quad Rugby Association sanctions the event. The Ylvisaker Cup will take place at the International Polo Club from January 26-February 24, 2012. A visionary businessman and former captain of the Yale polo team, Bill Ylvisaker founded Palm Beach Polo & Country Club. He also founded the Polo Training Foundation to teach and develop young polo players. During his playing career, Ylvisaker was a 7-goal player, and won three U.S. Open championships, two Coronation Cups against England and Australia, the U.S. Polo Association Gold Cup and four national 20-goal championships. He served as chairman of the U.S. Polo Association from 1970-75.

The Palm Beach Challenge is one of the largest spring training college baseball events that takes place in Florida. The event attracts NCAA Division I & II and NJCAA collegiate baseball teams from across the nation. The teams travel during their spring break week to train and compete in officially sanctioned NCAA and NJCAA games. The month long event takes place from February 28 to March 31, 2013 at the Santaluces Athletic Complex in Lantana. At the beginning of each week, a new set of teams travel to Palm Beach County while other teams depart. Each team will play between 5 and 12 games during their stay. Delray Beach Riptide lacrosse is proud to announce that the Syracuse University Women’s lacrosse team will be hosting a clinic on Sunday March 3rd from 10am to Noon. The Orange Women lacrosse team played for the national championship in 2012, and are favored to get back to that game in 2013. The girls will be instructed by the current players and coaching staff from the Orange team. In addition, the University of Michigan Men’s lacrosse team will hold a team practice (open to public) from 11am to 1pm followed by a boy’s clinic at 1:30pm. The Wolverine’s are in their second season as an NCAA Division 1 participant and have some of the finest coaches and players in America. Each of the teams will be playing in the Orange Bowl Classic at Sunlife Stadium the night before. UM vs. Army and SU vs. Florida!

Delray Beach Tennis Center
This youth tennis tournament will take place at the Delray Beach Tennis Center, the Delray Swim & Racquet Club, and the Boca West Country Club from March 31 – April 5, 2013. The event is the highest level junior tennis tournament for boys and girls that are 12 years old and under. The draw consists of 128 players in each gender division (256 total), consisting of the highest-ranked players in the US competing in singles and doubles competition. Each player will compete in a minimum of 4 games in 4 days. The winners of the 4th match will continue competing based on single elimination for the championship. The Sunshine State Conference Men’s and Women’s Tennis Championships will take place at South County Regional Park in Boca Raton on April 17-20, 2013. The 2013 Jupiter Courier Jam is one of the largest amateur basketball tournaments in the state featuring girls’ and boys’ tournaments. Both tournaments are sanctioned by the United States Specialty Sports Association (USSSA). The girls’ tournament which will include over 60 teams takes place at several North County gyms April 19-21, 2013. The boys’ tournament will follow on May 10-12, 2013. Admission is free for those under 18. For those 18 and older the admission is $10 per day or $15 for a weekend pass. This tournament is a qualifier for the USSSA National Championships. Indian Spring Country Club
The South Florida PGA Junior Championship and Challenge Tours is a series of two-day events at some of South Florida’s premiere facilities. Membership is Invitation Only. Juniors are invited based on the previous year’s Junior Tour scoring average and point standings and current year’s performance prior to session checkpoints. All Championship Tour events are nationally ranked by Junior Golf Scoreboard. All Championship Tour events are 36 hole events, with a Boys (13-18) and Girls (13-18) division. Boys compete from the Championship tees and girls compete from the middle tees. On April 20-21, 2013 the Tour Challenge will visit Indian Spring Country Club in Boynton Beach, Florida.

Fed Cup is the premier team competition in women’s tennis and is owned and managed by the International Tennis Federation (ITF). The USTA administers the United States participation in Fed Cup. The City of Delray Beach is looking to host a Fed Cup Tie at the Delray Beach Tennis Center on April 20-21, 2013. The Fed Cup match would feature the United States and Sweden. Fed Cup play consists of five matches that take place over two days: two singles matches on the first day (Saturday) and two singles followed by a doubles match on the second day (Sunday). These collective matches are called a “tie.” The first country to win three matches wins the tie and secures a place in the next round.

Join Let’s Move BOYNTON Walk Team April 24th for a causal walk along Ocean Avenue, over the bridge to Oceanfront Park and back (approximately 2 miles). Registration begins at 5 pm at the Amphitheatre, 129 East Ocean Avenue. Zumba and Jazzercise warm-up exercises and complimentary tee-shirts while supplies last. FREE!

The second annual OceanFest continues to grow into one of Juno Beach and Jupiter’s premier festivals, spanning three days and featuring sports such as the 13th Annual Kona Pro Juno/Jupiter Fall Classic surfing competition, a USA Volleyball sanctioned beach volleyball tournament, and competitions in skateboarding, paddleboarding and kite boarding. The festival also includes a professional sand art contest, two stages of live music, art vendors, a classic car show, and more. OceanFest will take place April 27 & 28, 2013 up and down Juno Beach, with the festival taking over A1A from Juno Beach Ocean Park to Loggerhead Park. The sports competitions will be comprised of adult and teenage athletes from around the world.

The Palm Beach Cup is a Florida Youth Soccer Association (FYSA) sanctioned soccer tournament for boys and girls. The tournament will feature over 120 teams competing in a wide array of age groups, ranging from 8u to 18u, on May 10-12, 2013. A total of 17 fields will be utilized over several facilities to accommodate 200 soccer games. The Palm Beach Cup venues include Mirasol Park, PGA Park, Gardens Park, Lilac Park, and Palm Beach Gardens High School in Palm Beach Gardens as well as Northwood University in West Palm Beach. Traveling teams affiliated with other soccer organizations, such as AYSO and US Club Soccer, are welcomed to participate in the tournament. This will be the sixth year of the Palm Beach Cup’s existence. However, the event has grown tremendously to create statewide and regional impact. The demand for this tournament is high. Gulfstream Polo Club
An event for the entire family is coming to Gulfstream Polo club on May 10-12, 2013. The Ford Trucks Polo and Balloon Festival has something for everyone. This will be a weekend of hot air balloons, polo, music, balloon rides, food, vendors and much more. Festivities begin on Friday night with Balloon Rides, Polo Game and Tether Balloon Rides. After the polo game seven hot air balloons will inflate on the field and offer tether rides. We will also have the Budweiser 55 Select hot air balloon inflating. This special shape balloon is a 15 story tall beer bottle. The tether rides go on sale at 5:30 PM. Only 350 tether rides are available. Be sure to come early to purchase your tickets. Tether rides are $5 per person with the funds going to the Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund.

An elite level lacrosse academy directed by college coaches from around the country on May 11-13, 2013 at the International Polo Club. Approximately 500 middle and high school boys compete against each other over the three day tournament sanctioned by U.S. Lacrosse. Elite teams are selected from the 9u through 19u age groups to compete throughout the nation.

Rattler Round Up

The Rattler Round Up, a Florida Judo Association sanctioned tournament, will take place at Atlantic High School in Delray Beach on Saturday, May 18, 2013. More than 100 athletes from across the state of Florida will compete in a variety of age divisions, which include both youth and adults. The tournament will feature both a Shiai and Kata competition for boys and girls. Shiai is a contest between two competitors to determine a winner of a match. The Kata competition allows competitors to demonstrate their form and ability to conduct formal exercises comprising of a fixed sequence of basic self-defense and attacking techniques. A selection of skill levels will be on display, which will range from white belts to black belts. For more information visit www.judous.com
