JKA / WF Americas 2016 Camp & Tournament

The JKA / WF Americas 2016 Camp & Tournament will take place at the Delray Beach Community Center and Atlantic High School from July 28-31. This national karate event will feature a tournament and camp for more than 200 members of the martial arts community. Participants will travel from across the United States to be trained by iconic karate instructors. The tournament will allow participants to compete against others in their relative skill division. The program has been running for 8 years featuring former NBA players travelling around the country and to Canada to help deserving youth reach their potential. In addition to teaching basketball skills, we invite prominent business and local community leaders to join us and share their life experiences with campers. This is a FREE basketball camp offered to youth and teens in our local community. We provide food and equipment for all participants.

Prospect Select Baseball - The Wave Invitational

Prospect Select, which currently produces 13 national baseball tournaments and showcases, will make its Palm Beach County debut this summer. Prospect Select Baseball is partnering with the Palm Beach County Sports Commission to host “The Wave Invitational” at Roger Dean Stadium in Jupiter and the Santaluces Athletic Complex in Lantana from July 22-26. Teams will from across the United States in 18U, 16U and 14U age divisions, beginning with three days of pool play and advancing to two days of playoff baseball. Optimist International Junior Golf Championships

The Optimist International Junior Golf Championships is one of the largest and well-known junior golf tournaments in the world. The tournament will take place on July 20 - August 4, at PGA National Resort & Spa in Palm Beach Gardens. This event will attract more than 700 youth golfers from the United States, Canada, and 30 other countries. Boys and girls from 10 & under to 13 & under will compete from July 20-25. Boys and girls between the ages of 13-15 will compete from July 25-30. Boys and girls between the ages of 15-18 will compete from July 30 - August 4. Optimists have been involved in the sport of junior golf for more than 30 years by holding local, regional and international tournaments. More than 5,000 golfers compete in official Optimist District qualifying tournaments. The best of these golfers, along with international golfers from around the globe, advance to the annual Optimist International Junior Golf Championships. USTA Girls' National 12 Clay Court Championships

Date: Jul 17 to 23, 2016
Location: Polo Club
The USTA Girls National 12 Clay Court Championship will take place at the Polo Club of Boca Raton, which is a private tennis facility that maintains 29 clay courts. The event is scheduled from July 17-23 2016. This is a junior tennis tournament for girls that are 12 years old and under. The draw consists of 128 players in a modified compass singles draw and in a 64 single elimination doubles draw. This is 1 of 4 national championships that takes place in the United States for this age group. Over 500 room nights and $150,000 of economic impact are projected.

USTA Boys 18's & 16's National Clay Court Championships

Location: Delray Beach Tennis Center
The USTA Boys 18’s & 16’s National Clay Court Championships is the highest level USTA junior tennis tournament in the country for boys 18u & 16u divisions. This event will be held from July 17-24, 2016 at the Delray Beach Tennis Center, Delray Swim & Tennis Club, and at the Broken Sound, Boca West, and Woodfield Country Clubs. The draw consists of more than 350 of the highest-ranked players in the US competing in singles and doubles competition. The event will include a College Expo, which is expected to attract approximately 100 NCAA collegiate coaches. This event will have a tremendous tourism impact for Palm Beach County. Over 2,000 room nights and $1 million in economic impact will be created.

Florida State Water Ski Championships

Date: Jul 9 to 10, 2016
Location: Okeeheelee Park
The Palm Beach County Sports Commission will support the Ski Club of the Palm Beaches to host the Florida State Waterski Championships at Okeeheelee Park on July 9-10. The event is sanctioned by the Florida Waterski Federation (FWF), which is affiliated with the American Waterski Association and the state chapter for USA Water Ski. The Florida State Water Ski Championships consists of both boys and girls divisions and adult and high school age groups. Approximately 150 water ski athletes are expected to travel from across Florida to compete in the state championships. Advancement to the Florida is primarily earned through placement on the American Waterski Association rankings list. Athletes can also qualify by placing in FWF state tournaments or by placing in the top-five at the previous year’s states championship.
