The 2016 Wellington Wolves March Madness basketball tournament will be held from March 4th to 6th at the Wellington Village Park Recreational facility and other gymnasiums in the surrounding area. The Wellington Wolves March Madness tournament is a well-established and prestigious basketball event that attracts teams from all over central and southern Florida to Palm Beach County every March. The tournament is sanctioned under the United States Specialty Sports Association (USSSA. Over 110 teams across 9 grade levels (3rd to 11th) will compete.

MLB Spring Training: Miami Marlins / St. Louis Cardinals

The Major League Baseball (MLB) Spring Training season begins in March as the St. Louis Cardinals, Champions of the National League Central Division, and Miami Marlins play a total of 29 games in the Grapefruit League at Roger Dean Stadium in Jupiter. The season will witness the Marlins and Cardinals competing against some of the most talented teams in Major League Baseball. Roger Dean Stadium will showcase the Miami Marlins and St. Louis Cardinals as they compete against perennial playoff contenders, such as the New York Yankees, New York Mets, Boston Red Sox, Atlanta Braves, Baltimore Orioles, and Washington Nationals.

The Honda Classic

Date: Feb 22 to 28, 2016
Location: PGA National Resort & Spa
The Honda Classic brings the world's best PGA TOUR players to Palm Beach County, providing a week of entertainment for the entire community, with a greater goal of supporting South Florida charities through the Children's Healthcare Charity, Inc. The Honda Classic will take place on February 22-28 at the PGA National Resort & Spa in Palm Beach Gardens. Last year’s event once again featured golf legends, such as Phil Mickleson, and Rory McIlroy. The tournament will consist of 144 golfers competing over 72 holes. Golfers are competing for a total purse of $6 million. The Champions Course at PGA National is a major reason why The Honda Classic has blossomed into one of the elite events on the PGA TOUR. The Champion course has become known as one of the most challenging layouts in tournament golf. The Bear Trap, comprised of Holes 15-17, is considered one of the toughest stretches of golf on the PGA TOUR. PGA National has helped build Palm Beach County’s storied golf reputation.

The Honda Classic

The Miami Dolphins created a south Florida cycling event to fight against cancer. In February 2016, fundraising participants now will be able to fight cancer by participating in a 5K walk/run or by choosing from six different cycling rides ending at the stadium; capped off by a fun event and concert. Participants will enjoy VIP access to the concert and general access will be open to the public with proceeds from ticket sales also going to fight cancer. Cherry Blossom Open XXI

Palm Beach County is becoming an epicenter for Judo. The Palm Beach County Sports Commission is partnering with Tomodachi Judo Club to host the Cherry Blossom Open XXI & The USA Judo Cup at Congress Middle School in Boynton Beach. Competitors will participate in a variety of age divisions, (youth and adults), which feature both a Shiai and Kata competition for boys and girls. Shiai is a contest between two competitors to determine a winner of a match. The Kata competition allows competitors to demonstrate their form and ability to conduct formal exercises comprising of a fixed sequence of basic self-defense and attacking techniques. Delray Beach Open by the Venetian Las Vegas

The Delray Beach Open is a professional men’s tournament, the only combined ATP World Tour & Champions Tour event, in the world. The ATP World Tour event, one of only 10 in the United States, will take place from February 12 to 21, 2016 at the Delray Beach Tennis Center. Past participants have included stars such as Andy Roddick, Andre Agassi, Mardy Fish, Jimmy Connors, and James Blake. The 7-day tournament is seen nationally and internationally in over 150 countries with a potential reach of 128.2 million homes. The main draw consists of 32 world class tennis players. Prior to the ATP World Tour Event, the Delray Beach Tennis Center will host the only ATP Champions Tour event in the United States for the fifth consecutive year.

Palm Beach Challenge

The Palm Beach Challenge is one of the largest college spring baseball events that takes place in Florida. The event attracts NCAA Division I, II, and III baseball teams nationwide. The challenge allows teams to train during their spring break, then compete in NCAA sanctioned games. The month long event takes place from February 12 to March 20, 2016 at the Santaluces Athletic Complex in Lantana. Each week brings a new set of teams to Palm Beach County. Teams will play between 5 and 12 games on average during their stay. The Palm Beach Challenge hopes to host 130 total college baseball games. Don’t miss the exciting action.

Palm Beach Grand Prix

Location: Palm Beach International Raceway
The Palm Beach Grand Prix is one of Palm Beach County’s premier auto-racing events. The Palm Beach Grand Prix will take place on February 11-13. During this event, the Palm Beach International Raceway will showcase over 40 cars from the Formula Road Racing Series to Palm Beach County to compete in the Formula 1600, Formula 2000 and Formula Atlantic series races. The Palm Beach Grand Prix features 9 hours of racing action per day on the 10 turn, 2.034 mile road course. Racing enthusiasts from across Florida will travel to Palm Beach County to experience this race. This is one of the largest motorsports events taking place in the Palm Beaches.

The Allianz Championship will take place at the Old Course at Broken Sound in Boca Raton on February 1-7, 2016. Ylvisaker Cup

The Ylvisaker Cup takes place from January 27 to February 21, 2016 at the International Polo Club. This is one of the most renowned 20 goal polo tournaments in the nation. A visionary businessman and former captain of the Yale polo team, Bill Ylvisaker founded Palm Beach Polo and Country Club. He also founded the Polo Training Foundation to teach and develop young polo players. During his playing career, Ylvisaker was a 7-goal player and won three U.S. Open Polo championships, two Coronation Cups against England and Australia, the U.S. Polo Association Gold Cup, and four national, 20-goal championships.
