The U.S. Open of Water Skiing is a thrilling display of three-event skiing at its best. The world’s top athletes, including several current world-record holders, will headline this action packed competition. This prestigious event will feature 100 of the world’s elite men and women professional slalom, jump and trick water skiers. They will compete for $55,000 in cash prizes and the opportunity to be crowned U.S. Open Champion, which is one of the most coveted titles in water skiing.

Honda Classic High School Invitational

The Honda Classic High School Invitational is an amateur golf tournament, which features the best high school golf programs from across the state of Florida and the nation. The Honda Classic High School Invitational, scheduled for October 7-8, 2016, includes both a boys and girls division and presents a 36-hole event on the PGA National Champion’s Course (boys) and the Fazio Course (girls). The Columbus Day Open hosted by the City of Delray Beach, held October 8-10, 2016, is one of the largest of the newly created USTA National Selection events in the United States. With over 250 participants competing in the Boys and Girls 12s, 14s, 16s and 18 and under divisions, this event will showcase the future of American tennis. The event will be held at the Delray Beach Tennis Center, Delray Swim & Tennis Club, the Boca Raton Swim & Racquet Club, Broken Sound Country Club, Boca West Country Club, and Hunters Run Country Club. Each singles draw will consist of 32 players, competing a minimum of two times (consolation format). Each doubles draw will consist of 16 teams (single elimination). LPGA Legends Tour - Walgreens Charity Championship

The LPGA Legends Tour is the official senior tour of the LPGA. The tour began in 2000 by LPGA professionals to showcase the talents of some of the greatest women’s golfers of all time. The 2016 Walgreens Charity Championship is one of eight scheduled LPGA Legends Tour stops, taking place at the Seagate Country Club in Delray Beach from October 20-25, 2016. The professional event itself will consist of a 36-hole tournament featuring 44 LPGA legends and up to 12 local qualifiers. Prior to the two-day weekend tournament, the event will feature a local qualifying tournament, pro-am event, golf clinics for women, and tie in with Walgreens executive and vendor meetings.

The Perfect Game World Wood Bat Association (WWBA) World Championships will be returning for the 16th time in 17 years. This event, which has experienced tremendous growth in team and player participation, is conducted under Perfect Game USA and will take place at Roger Dean Stadium in Jupiter, FL from October 20-24, 2016.

The USA BMX Sunshine State Nationals will take place at Okeeheelee Park’s BMX Track on October 21-22. The USA BMX Sunshine State Nationals hosts both male and female competitors, and encompasses ages 8 & under, 9-11, 12-25, 16 and over, and professionals. This is an international event, drawing competitors from the United States, Canada, Mexico, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Brazil, Puerto Rico, Aruba, and Peru among others. Florida Judo Association (FJA) Team Championships

Location: Congress Middle School
Palm Beach County is becoming an epicenter for Judo. The Palm Beach County Sports Commission is partnering with Tomodachi Judo Club to host the FJA Judo Team Championships at Congress Middle School in Boynton Beach. Competitors will participate in a variety of age divisions, (youth and adults), which feature both a Shiai and Kata competition for boys and girls. Shiai is a contest between two competitors to determine a winner of a match. The Kata competition allows competitors to demonstrate their form and ability to conduct formal exercises comprising of a fixed sequence of basic self-defense and attacking techniques.
