2013 Winter Equestrian Festival Overview

The Winter Equestrian Festival (“WEF”) is the nation’s premier equestrian competition for professional and amateur equestrians. Riders from over 33 countries and 50 US states (many of whom reside in Palm Beach County for an average of 4-6 months per year), compete for approximately $7.7 million in prize money. The competition attracts 5,500 horses, 2800 riders, 800 trainers, and 250,000 spectators and visitors to the grounds for the full twelve-week event. The WEF is operated at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center (“PBIEC”) which is located in the middle of an 8,000 acre equestrian preserve in Wellington Florida and has become the one of the World’s top facilities and the leading equestrian lifestyle destination.
