2013 EVP Pro Beach Volleyball returning to Delray Beach
Palm Beach County, FL- The Palm Beach County Sports Commission has partnered with the Delray Beach Marketing Cooperative (DBMC) to bring the EVP ProSeries National Championships to Palm Beach County. Returning to Delray Beach for the third year in a row, this exciting event will be held on Saturday, September 21, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the beach, between Atlantic Avenue and Miramar, and will be televised frequently on various cable sports networks throughout the states and the Caribbean Islands.
The EVP National Championship is the final competition for professional/amateur volleyball teams on the EVP Tour. Twenty-four professional teams and eighty amateur teams are expected to participate at this weekend’s event. Professional and amateur matches will take place simultaneously on 10 volleyball courts set up on Delray Beach’s public beach.
The EVP Beach Volleyball Tour’s primary aim is to support beach volleyball events that engage families, fans, athletes, students, communities and sponsors in a great day at the beach. At each event, spectators will not only see elite athletes compete on the sand for top honors, they will also have the chance to interact with the pros by participating in contests and promotions.
The September 21 competition in Delray Beach will offer a $6,000 purse for contestants, with six different cash prizes, amounts ranging from $200 to $1,300. The Hyatt Place
