Kids Fitness Festival of The Palm Beaches Presented by Baptist Health Set for June 30

The Palm Beach County Sports Commission will host the Kids Fitness Festival of The Palm Beaches presented by Baptist Health on Wednesday, June 30 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Jim Brandon Equestrian Center in West Palm Beach.

Elementary and middle school-aged children will learn the basics of nearly 20 traditional and non-traditional sports from the area’s leading instructors. Additionally, attendees can experience a rock wall, play games, and interact with collegiate athletes and coaches.

The Kids Fitness Festival of the Palm Beaches has been produced for 25 years by the Palm Beach County Sports Commission. This year’s event will be taking place for the first time, outside under the covered arena at the Jim Brandon Equestrian Center, located at 7500 Forest Hill Blvd, West Palm Beach, FL 33413. This 111-acre world-class showplace operated by the Palm Beach County Parks and Recreation Department features a covered and lighted Western Event Arena which measures 37,500 square feet and spans 76 by 46 meters. The smaller Flex Fence Arena still measures a copious 27,000 square feet with meter dimensions of 60 by 50. Since its inception, the Kids Fitness Festival has introduced over 75,000 local youth to the world of sports.

“We are very excited about this year’s Kids Fitness Festival,” said Jeff Zipper, Kids Fitness Festival Committee Chair. “We are very appreciative of our presenting sponsor Baptist Health and our other great partners. After the past year, we felt this year’s Kids Fitness Festival was more important than ever to get children out and participating in sports once again. This event would not be possible without support from the local community.”

“Through our new partnership with the Palm Beach County Sports Commission, we are excited to extend our Baptist Health footprint through sports-focused youth programs in Palm Beach County,” said Reggie Laroche, Assistant Vice President at Baptist Health Orthopedics & Sports Medicine. “Kicking off our involvement with the Kids Fitness Festival is a great way for us to continue supporting and encouraging the South Florida youth community to keep active and enjoy a healthy lifestyle.”

Each year, the Palm Beach County Sports Commission partners with a variety of sports organizations, associations, national governing bodies, clubs, and facilities to produce a one-of-a-kind festival. Nearly 20 different organizations will offer introductory sports clinics that teach their sport’s necessary basic functions and fundamentals. Previous attendees have included event partners and facilities; US Tennis Association, Roger Dean Stadium, Palm Beach International Raceway, Okeeheelee BMX, American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO), Florida Panthers, Florida Atlantic University, Florida Youth Lacrosse Foundation, the Miami Marlins, and other special guest appearances.

Community sponsors of this year’s event include Baptist Health, Cardinal-Marlins Fund of the Community Foundation for Palm Beach & Martin Counties, ESPN West Palm, Enterprise Holdings, Palm Beach County Parks and Recreation, and The Honda Classic Cares.
