

The Activision Call of Duty League Major III Tournament hosted by the Miami Heretics took place in Boca Raton from April 24-27, 2025. The Major III Tournament was held at the Eleanor R. Baldwin Arena on the campus of Florida Atlantic University. The Palm Beach County Sports Commission partnered with Misfits Gaming to bring the first-ever professional esports event to The Palm Beaches.
Call of Duty enthusiasts and fans had the opportunity to attend the Major III Tournament as it is one of four majors that take place throughout the entire season. Upwards of 5,000 fans were expected to attend the event, a majority from outside of the region.
The host of the Major III Tournament, the Miami Heretics, is a professional esports organization and one of the top-rated Call of Duty teams in the entire world. The Miami-based squad is one of 12 teams from across the United States and Canada that currently compete in the official Call of Duty League. The Major III featured the host team as well as the other teams that earned spots by competing in the qualifying rounds before the tournament.
The Call of Duty League is made up of elite professional gaming teams that are equally exciting and impressive to watch. These teams compete in regular season matchups as well as tournament play and post-season fixtures. The Call of Duty League has amassed a large and loyal following over the years with Call of Duty League’s social accounts amassing millions of followers and subscribers. The Major III Tournament benefited more than just gaming enthusiasts in The Palm Beaches. This event created a large economic impact for the local lodging and hospitality communities.
