It’s good to be a sports fan in The Palm Beaches. Not only are there 160 golf courses, scores of water sports and many other outdoor activities to choose from year-round, but one week in February brings together an elite slate of sporting events dubbed the Ultimate Week of Sports by the Palm Beach County Sports Commission.

During six action-packed days, you can catch five different sports around The Palm Beaches – including polo, PGA golf, professional tennis and Major League Baseball. Here’s our day-by-day guide.

Delray Beach Open (Feb. 19)

Come see tennis elite, both past and present, at the Delray Beach Open, Feb. 11-20 – the only tournament in the world to feature both the ATP Tour and fan-favorite legends from the ATP Champions Tour. Now in its 30th year, the tournament draws more than 60,000 spectators over 10 days.

Some of the stars signed on to compete in the 2022 event include Francis Tiafoe, Cameron Norrie, Kei Nishikori, Nick Kyrgios and the Bryan brothers, the winningest doubles team of all time.

Catch singles and doubles semifinal matches on Saturday, Feb. 19, starting at just $55. Even better, the hard court action happens in the heart of Atlantic Avenue, just a short stroll from Delray Beach Municipal Beach.

Gauntlet of Polo™ (Feb. 20)

Palm Beach International Polo Season rides into town from January 2 through April 24, 2022. Throughout those 16 weeks, the world’s finest horses, preeminent teams and most skilled players will be competing for the prestigious Gauntlet of Polo™.

In the ultimate survival of the fittest, the Gauntlet of Polo comprises three elite tournaments: the C.V. Whitney Cup, the USPA Gold CupⓇ and the U.S. Open Polo ChampionshipⓇ. The team that wins all three takes home the largest prize in the sport: $1,000,000. On Sunday, Feb. 20, you can see the C.V. Whitney Cup Final, with general admission tickets starting at just $10. Or, VIP it with fieldside Champagne Brunch, starting at $140 per person.

Winter Equestrian Festival (Feb. 23)

Taking place at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center in Wellington, this long-running festival is considered the world’s premier winter gathering of horses and riders. The 12-week show sees only the best riders of their class, including Olympians, adult amateurs, juniors and children from 52 countries and all 50 states.

During Week 7 of the festival, you can catch Show Jumping and Hunter competition beginning on Wednesday, Feb. 23 at 8 a.m., and running throughout the week. Best of all, admission and parking are free! In addition to the impressive displays of equestrian prowess, spectators will have opportunities to shop exquisite vendors and take part in a variety of activities. The Honda Classic (Feb. 24)

The Honda Classic has been bringing top PGA TOUR talent to The Palm Beaches since 2003, providing a week of entertainment and one of the finest fan experiences around. The tournament features a field of 144 players and a purse of $7 million, with net proceeds benefiting the locally based Children’s Healthcare Charity.

The competition takes place on the world-renowned Champion Course at PGA National Resort & Spa. Originally designed by Tom and George Fazio, and redesigned by links legend Jack Nicklaus, the course is best known for “The Bear Trap” – a daunting three-hole stretch that is known as one of the biggest challenges in golf. Be there for the first round, beginning Thursday, Feb. 24.

Major League Baseball Spring Training at Ballpark of The Palm Beaches (Feb. 26)

Spring Training is a can’t-miss experience in The Palm Beaches, where the teams of the Grapefruit League warm up for the regular season under the South Florida sun. Ballpark of The Palm Beaches in West Palm Beach is the Spring Training home of not one, but two World Series teams: the world-champion Washington Nationals and the Houston Astros.

On Saturday, Feb. 26, the Astros will take on their division rival St. Louis Cardinals. See the big-league action from a blanket on the Banana Boat Lawn, or snag a stadium or Field Box seat for an up-close view of some of the best players in the game. Be sure to visit the Craft Corner, where a variety of beers flow from 32 tap handles.

Major League Baseball Spring Training at Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium (Feb. 26)

Can’t get enough of America’s pastime? Head a few miles north to Jupiter’s Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium, where the St. Louis Cardinals and Miami Marlins spend their Spring Training. With unparalleled player access and close-up encounters with veteran stars and up-and-coming prospects alike, the Spring Training experience here is truly one-of-a-kind.

On Saturday, Feb. 26, you’ll have a chance to see the Miami Marlins against the New York Mets.
