2019 GOLF Channel Am Tour National Championship held for the first time at PGA National Resort & Spa

The Golf Channel Amateur Tour’s 2019 National Championship will take place at the beautiful PGA National Resort & Spa in Palm Beach County from September 17-26, 2019 and September 21-30, 2021.   PGA National Resort & Spa will serve as the host venue and provide its four (4) on-property golf courses to host the event (The Champion Course, The Fazio Course, The Palmer Course, and The Squire Course).  The Golf Channel Amateur Tour National Championships presents more participants compared to any other golf event that takes place annually in the United States.

The National Championships are individual, 72-hole stroke play tournaments.  Qualifiers from across the country will converge in Southeast, FL in spirited competition to crown a National Champion in each flight.

The Golf Channel Amateur Tour is the largest amateur golf tour in the United States powered by the #1 network in golf. The Am Tour is comprised of 50 local events with over 7,500 members from around the country where amateur golfers compete against players of their same skill level.  The Golf Channel Amateur Tour National Championships are the year ending tournaments where players from all 50 U.S. states come together in hopes of being a “National Champion”.

The Golf Channel Amateur Tour National Championships consist of 1,200 golfers competing in two divisions.  The first flight takes place during the initial five (days) of the tournament and will crown a national champion in the 50 and underage group.  The second flight will crown the Senior National Champion, which consists of a field that is 50 years of age and above.  Both divisions are comprised of four (4) rounds with 72-holes of stroke play. All tournament play is divided into 3 somes.

The Golf Channel Amateur Tour National Championships will create a momentous tourism impact for The Palm Beaches.  The 1,200 amateur golfers and more than 2,000 total visitors will create a projected 4,000 hotel room nights and over $2.4 million in economic impact.   The National Preview will also influence tourism by adding another 200+ hotel room nights to the totals.
