The Palm Beaches Strengthens its Legacy as a Premier NCAA Golf Destination

The Palm Beach County Sports Commission organized the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) NCAA Division II Women’s Golf National Championship on May 12-16, 2026, on The Champion Course at PGA National Resort. The Palm Beach County Sports Commission’s successful bid for this NCAA Championship event signifies a historic milestone. This event represents the 6th NCAA Golf National Championship to take place in The Palm Beaches, over the last eight years. This also represents the second time our Sports Commission managed the NCAA Division II Women’s Golf National Championship.

Palm Beach Atlantic University (PBAU) served as co-host with the Palm Beach County Sports Commission in overseeing the NCAA Division II Women’s Golf National Championship. PBAU provided irreplaceable support by offering volunteers and operational assistance. PBAU is a member of the Sunshine State Conference, which is a Division II affiliate of the NCAA.

The NCAA Division II Women’s Golf National Championship consists of both team and individual competitions conducted concurrently. A total of 108 golfers—including 20 qualifying teams and eight individual competitors—competed for the National Championship in The Palm Beaches.  The Championship consisted of a 54-hole competition, which will declare the individual champion, followed by a cut to the top eight teams. The top eight (8) teams competed in match play to determine who wins the national title. Ultimately, Dallas Baptist won its second straight national championship, capturing the 2026 title after defeating Anderson (South Carolina) in match play. Dallas Baptist is the first school to repeat as NCAA DII national champions since Palm Beach County’s very own Lynn University, in 2013-14.

The NCAA Division II Women’s Golf National Championshipprovided a significant economic and tourism impact to The Palm Beaches. In addition to the coaches, players, and school representatives, an influx of students, alumni, and golf fans visited The Palm Beaches to enjoy the national championship.
