Baseball Hall of Famers and MLB Greats to be Honored at Olympic Baseball Qualifier

The Palm Beach County Sports Commission has announced the Hall of Famers and Major League Baseball greats who will be honored at upcoming Olympic Baseball Qualifier games at the Ballpark of the Palm Beaches on May 31-June 4.

The prestigious list of names scheduled to appear includes Hall of Famer Larry Walker, Hall of Famer Andre Dawson, Hall of Famer Ivan “Pudge” Rodriguez, David “Big Papi” Ortiz, and many more.

Monday, May 31

Venezuela vs. Cuba – 1:00 p.m.

  • Tony Armas (Venezuela), two-time Major League Baseball All-Star and two-time American League home run leader
  • Liván Hernández (Cuba), two-time MLB All-Star and 1997 World Series champion

Colombia vs. Canada – 7:00 p.m.

  • Édgar Rentería (Colombia), five-time MLB All-Star and two-time World Series Champion
  • Larry Walker (Canada), five-time MLB All-Star and incoming member of the National Baseball Hall of Fame

Tuesday, June 1

Nicaragua vs. Puerto Rico – 1:00 p.m.

  • Dennis Martínez (Nicaragua), four-time MLB All-Star and member of the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame
  • Iván ‘Pudge’ Rodríguez (Puerto Rico), member of the National Baseball Hall of Fame, 14-time MLB All-Star, and 2003 World Series champion

Dominican Republic vs. USA – 7:00 p.m.

  • David Ortiz (Dominican Republic), 10-time MLB All-Star and three-time World Series champion
  • Jeff Conine (USA), two-time MLB All-Star and two-time World Series champion

Super Round, June 4

  • Andre Dawson (USA), member of the National Baseball Hall of Fame and eight-time MLB All-Star
  • Bucky Dent (USA), three-time MLB All-Star, two-time World Series champion, and World Series MVP
