“The Palm Beach County Sports Hall of Fame proudly welcomes its 47th class—an extraordinary group of seven outstanding individuals, including athletes, coaches, and contributors,” said Steve Rockoff, Palm Beach County Sports Hall of Fame Committee Chair. “Their decades-long commitment to excellence has profoundly shaped the local sports scene. Their stories of triumph, dedication, and determination create a lasting legacy that truly defines the sports culture of The Palm Beaches.”
The event, a longstanding tradition since 1977, was started by sportswriter Chuck Otterson to honor the achievements of local athletes. The Palm Beach County Sports Commission has been involved with the event since 2004, evolving it into the successful program it is today.
Nominations for induction into the Hall of Fame are made by the general public and Hall of Fame Committee members. To be considered, candidates must have been born, attended school, or achieved their major sports accomplishment in Palm Beach County. The Hall of Fame Committee, consisting of committee members and past inductees, diligently reviews nominations to select deserving individuals annually.
