The 13th annual Summer Smash Open, hosted by the City of Delray Beach and organized by Players International Management (PIM), returned as one of the largest USTA Level 4 events in the United States. This prestigious tournament took place over two weekends: August 17 – 19, 2024, featuring the Boys’ 12s, 14s, 16s, and 18s divisions, and August 24 – 26, 2024, showcasing the Girls’ 12s, 14s, 16s, and 18s divisions. Matches were held at the Delray Swim & Tennis Club, Delray Beach Tennis Center, One Tennis Academy, Boca West Country Club, and Palm Beach Gardens Tennis Center.
Over 500 players competed across all divisions. Each division included a 64-draw event with a feed-in consolation through the round of 16, ensuring all players had ample opportunities to compete. With the influx of players, their families, and coaches, the Palm Beach County Sports Commission projected a strong economic impact was created by this event for Palm Beach County.
Players’ International Management (PIM), based in Delray Beach, serves annually as the event organizer for the Summer Smash Open and a variety of USTA-sanctioned events in The Palm Beaches. Beyond youth tennis, PIM also produces the Delray Beach Open, a long-running staple of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) Tour.
The event’s venues represented some of the best tennis facilities in Florida. This world-class event showcased elite talent across several venues in The Palm Beaches, including the Delray Swim & Tennis Club, Delray Beach Tennis Center, One Tennis Academy, Boca West Country Club, and Palm Beach Gardens Tennis Center.
