The 2025 NCAA Division II Men’s Golf National Championship concluded in dramatic fashion at PGA National Resort in Palm Beach Gardens, with the University of West Florida capturing its third national title in program history via a playoff. The event, held May 19-23, was co-hosted by the Palm Beach County Sports Commission and Palm Beach Atlantic University.

West Florida’s win of the 2025 NCAA DII Golf National Championship marks its first since 2008, all three of the program’s titles have come under the guidance of longtime head coach Steve Fell. The Argonauts emerged from a field of 20 qualifying teams and advanced through the match-play finals to claim the championship trophy.

On the individual side, University of North Georgia’s Hunter Smith earned top honors and was crowned the 2025 NCAA Division II Men’s Golf Individual National Champion. Smith posted an impressive 6-under-par tournament score over 54 holes of stroke play.

This year’s championship once again showcased The Palm Beaches as a premier destination for collegiate golf. A total of 108 golfers – representing 20 teams and 8 individual qualifiers – competed in the national championship following regional play, which featured 80 teams and 32 individuals across four sites and eight regions.

This marks the second time the NCAA Division II Men’s Golf Championship has been held in The Palm Beaches, with the previous edition taking place in 2021. The Palm Beach County Sports Commission’s successful hosting of NCAA golf events continues to set a national standard.
