While the Palm Beach County Sports Commission hosts premier sports events — including World Championships, Olympic Qualifiers, and some of the largest tournaments in the nation — one of our most meaningful annual traditions is the Kids Fitness Festival of the Palm Beaches, presented by Baptist Health. On July 9th, more than 1,200 children (ages 5 to 12), gathered at the South Florida Fairgrounds to explore a wide range of sports through interactive clinics led by local and national sports organizations. For many, it was their first time experiencing the joy of sports.
Celebrating its 22nd year, the Kids Fitness Festival of The Palm Beaches encourages our county’s children to participate in sports while embracing fitness and healthy lifestyles. The Sports Commission organizes this festival annually to develop and promote the positive aspects of sports participation, which can provide beneficial impacts throughout a lifetime. The interactive sports clinics are produced by local and national sports organizations. After playing the many sports offered at this event, the participating children received information to take home, which provided instructions on how they can pursue the different sports that were featured at the Kids Fitness Festival.
This event is more than just fun — it’s a powerful investment in the health, confidence, and future of our youth. This event brings together children from all corners of Palm Beach County, including those from underserved communities, and encourages sports participation and active living. It’s events like this that make us a well-balanced sports commission and one that champions both economic development and grassroots community impact.
