A Banner Year: Sports Tourism Reach New Heights in The Palm Beaches

The Palm Beach County Sports Commission continues to demonstrate why The Palm Beaches is ranked as a Top 5 Sports Destination, per the Sports Business Journal, for hosting and attracting sporting events. This recognition underscores our Sports Commission’s leadership in the sports travel and event industry and its consistent success in producing high-quality, impactful events.   In FY 2025, the Sports Commission’s robust portfolio of 227 events significantly boosted the local economy and enriched the lives of residents. The Sports Commission’s efforts generated 462,910 room nights, contributing $147 million in hotel revenue and $9 million in bed tax for Palm Beach County’s lodging industry. Sports event related room nights represent 23% of the total lodging room nights created in The Palm Beaches. Additionally, visitor spending tied to these events is projected at $498 million, underscoring the powerful economic and community benefits of Palm Beach County’s sports development plan.

 

This record-setting year in sports tourism reflects Palm Beach County’s collaborative sports community, a diverse and dynamic collection of venues, the nation’s premier parks and recreation system, a dedicated hospitality industry, and visionary county leadership. This recognition also symbolizes the unwavering commitment of the Palm Beach County Sports Commission and the many valued partners across our community who work tirelessly to elevate The Palm Beaches as a premier destination for sports tourism.
